Early screening for declining cognitive abilities and dementia plays a crucial role in slowing the progression of neurodegenerative diseases. However, conventional diagnostic tools are often costly and time-consuming, making them unsuitable for widespread use. This toolkit is designed to support rehabilitation and cognitive performance monitoring. It is cost-effective and utilizes eye movement data to efficiently predict Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).

Participants are required to wear a VR headset for real-time eye movement tracking. The system randomly displays target points on the screen, and the participant must immediately look at the target upon appearance. The system records the reaction time, and this data is analyzed to assess prefrontal brain function, aiming to detect early signs of cognitive impairment.
Antisaccadic task
Participants are required to wear a VR headset for real-time eye movement tracking. When a target appears on the screen, participants must immediately shift their gaze to the opposite direction. This response is designed to assess the ability to inhibit automatic behaviors and to consciously control eye movements. The system records reaction time and accuracy, which are then analyzed to evaluate the function of the prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain associated with response inhibition and cognitive control.
